We provide lots of activities here at the hub to keep our community fit and healthy! Whether you would like to learn how to cook delicious healthy meals for your family in our Cookwell classes, or learn about nutrition and balanced diets from one of our partner agencies, we are here to help. We also run a Slimwell (weight management) evening class twice a week from the hub and many family based activities aimed at keeping the mind and body healthy. Please pop in for more details.
Our ‘Mini and Me’ time for parents and children from 0-5 years runs weekly at SinglePoint. We offer lots of activities for children and their parents to come along and join in the fun and meet new friends along the way. We have recently delivered music sessions for our parents and children led by Emma at Music Bugs. Singing, dancing, bubble popping and parachute games are to mention just a few of the exciting activities that take place in our sessions. For parents with babies registered at the hub we can offer training in baby massage which has been found to soothe babies whilst teething and to help overcome colic. All of our sessions are chargeable and start from £1.00 per child.
Do you feel that you need to brush up on your computer skills or find out what your children are learning at school? If so then come along to SinglePoint and book onto one of our courses! Courses are run by qualified tutors and are delivered within the SinglePoint hub. Our menu of courses varies throughout the year and based on interest from our users. If you are interested in a course to help you learn a new skill, for enjoyment or to help with employment why not pop in? Paediatric first aid, creative photography, cake decorating, IT, Food Hygiene, sewing plus many more short courses are available through SinglePoint so please come along to find out what’s on and make your suggestions to a member of staff.
We provide our families and the community with events throughout the year that are held at the hub. We have previously joined forces with Bostin Arts who helped us produce art work with the community. We have also enjoyed the lantern making and parade at Christmas time that we carried out with Sandwell Youth Music. A Christmas event was held at the hub in December before our Christmas break offering festive family photo shoots, snow machine, Santa’s grotto and a nativity scene with real life donkeys! We look to run community events throughout the year and all ideas from our community are greatly appreciated
